If you use Snapchat, then get ready for ads

The popular app Snapchat has been attracting users at a high rate. This past Wednesday, founder  Evan Spiegel has announced the start up will begin to start placing ads into its app.

Ads will start in the popular feature of stories. The feature was launched last year and has seen impressive numbers of engagement. Especially with this Summer's past FIFA world cup. Snapchat continues to be innovative with stories from College game day, ACL Music festival, and even Oktoberfest in the Germany.

Advertisers will pay to have their content placed storylines. Spiegel has also mentioned that ads would not be targeted according to a user’s profile.

Exact dates for the new ads to start rolling out have not yet been confirmed. They are expected to start in 2015. But will these ads ruin the nature of the app and will users be able to skip the ads? In the same manner that they skip uninteresting and dull stories. We will just have to wait and see.

Are you looking forward to Spiegel's implementation of ads into Snapchat?
