Can Cockroach Milk Save Humanity???

Now I thought I seen it all in the fitness and health world, until last week when a group of researchers announced a bombshell. I honestly did not even know that insects could produce milk. But apparently I have been living under a rock since now, Cockroach milk has been announced as being the superfood of the future.

Cockroach milk and cereal

Hey Fittest fam, I don’t know if you all have been keeping up with international news and what not but last month a team of scientist proclaimed that the superfood of the future is milk. And not the same old milk from your local cow that jumped over the moon, but milk that comes from a motha*** cockroach.

Now before you take a sticky pad over to your local trap house, you should know that not all cockroaches produce milk. The cockroach juice in question is that of the Diploptera punctate.

Scientist from IUCrJ now claim that milk from cockroaches are more than four  times as nutritious then that of cow’s milk. The researchers now believe that I could be the key to feeding our consistently growing population.

Protein crystals that researchers such as Sanchari Banerjee believe that “The crystals are like a complete food – they have proteins, fats, and sugars.” Essentially proclaiming that it has all the essential amino acids needed by the human body.

First off, the fact that an insect can produce milk was the initial red flag that led scientist to test the milk. One single protein crystal contains more than three times the amounts of energy found in an equivalent amount of buffalo milk.

Not only is this cockroach milk full of energy providing nutrients, but the protein is time-released. Meaning that the protein crystals is digested at an equivalent rate of time.

Now take a second to think about this. The benefits of milk from one of these cockroaches is:
Complete protein
High quality calorie density
Time released digestion
Those who struggle to get the amount of calories required per day could be a quickly get calories and nutrients needed
Well I don’t know about you all but I will stick to my regular good ole over-the-counter supplements. But if you wish to try some cockroach milk, then all power to you.

Scientist are still years away from making the supersaturated crystal OTC an option. But even if it were to go on the market today, I don’t think I could ever get the images of NY jungle cockroaches crawling over my toes as a young boy. Anyhow, you be the judge. Happy lifting!
