Exercise

This is self-explanatory. You will not lose weight, burn fat, remain healthy, reduce chances of cardiovascular diseases, or live long without any type of exercise.

Whether it is hardcore HIIT or a brisk walk at the park each evening. Exercise is mandatory.

Hormones

Your hormones play a pig part of your weight gain or loss. Without balanced levels according to your body, then you will have a difficult time losing weight.

Especially the older you get when growth hormone, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone declines.

If your think your hormones may be inhibiting your gains, consult your doctor. Hormones can be prescribed for those who need them

Also Ghrelin, which is a hunger hormone, will stimulate AMPK (read below).

Arginine

Arginine is an amino acid that activates growth hormones. And is one of the most powerful growth hormone activators that burns fat.

You can get arginine threw seeds (sesame, cottonseed, sunflower) and mainly through seafood (King crab, Dungeness crab, crayfish, lobster). Other sources are spinach, spirulina, turkey, and soy protein isolate.

Only huge issue of arginine is that too much arginine can affect those with adrenal gland issues. Causing your viruses to come out of remission. But the quick fix is just add more protein into your system to put viruses back in check.

Protein

High amounts of protein will not only rebuild your beautiful muscles, high protein will also increase your metabolism.

A more efficient metabolism accompanied with well-maintained muscle mass will keep your body burning calories in order to accommodate your muscles. The body even burns more calories when you eat protein then when you digest carbs or fat.

Enzymes

The enzyme AMPK (5’ AMP-Activated Protein Kinase) is well.. I will spare you the boring chemistry and just tell you that AMPK is an enzyme that plays a role in cellular energy balance. It becomes activated by exercise and calorie restriction.

AMPK is like a master switch board. When the body needs energy, it takes up glucose, burns fatty acids, and creates new mitochondria.

The biggest creator of this enzyme comes from metabolic stress brought about by an extreme cellular demand for ATP. In laments terms, when working your ass off exercising.

Time restricted eating, leptin, nitric oxide, and fasting have also been known to trigger and/or increase AMPK.

Cinnamon

Now when I say cinnamon, I’m not referring to cinnamon buns from Cinnabon. I’m talking about raw all natural cinnamon. Cinnamon makes your fat cells more sensitive to insulin.

Cinnamon imitates the biological activity of insulin and increase the metabolism of glucose. Since high blood sugar levels can lead to increased storage of fat by your body, cinnamon helps prevent the increased storage of fat which essentially enables you to lose weight.

Cinnamon delays the passing of food from the stomach to the intestine allowing you to feel more satisfied for longer periods of time. And essentially eating less.

And you can literally put cinnamon on anything. A PB&J, cup of tea, cereal, oatmeal, salads, etc.

Thermogenesis

There are two forms of thermogenesis; Hot and Cold.

During hot thermogenis, the heat being build up in your body will eventually need some system of cooling itself down. Your body needs glucose that is created from calories to cool your body down and create perspiration.

In essence, your body works overtime and you will continue to burn calories after a workout is done becuase of hot thermogenesis.

To burn a few extra calories, I recommend hitting the sauna after a workout or wearing a sweatshirt or jacket for half an hour after.

Cold thermogenesis has also been known to burn calories from brown fat. In times when your body becomes extremely cold, the auto response from your body is too warm itself up.

How does it do that? Cold thermogenesis uses the adipose tissue brown fat in the body. Unlike white fat which store excess energy, brown fat burns energy in order to keep you warm.

Through cold thermogenesis, like hot, our body uses energy from calories to keep internal organs warm. That is why you shiver, blood flows get restricted, and your limbs are the first thing to go numb.

These tips only work with your effort

These tips alone will not be your savior on the battlegrounds of health and wellness. But they will undoubtedly burn a minimal amount of calories throughout the day. And those minimal calories being burned up will accumulate!

That can amount to an extra 1-2 lbs. of fat loss per week in addition to a solid workout routine and viable nutritional intake. So add these tips to your regimen and as usual, Happy Lifting! #theFittest
